If you have seen Teaching Video 59 ( round & round in circles ) then the beginning of a new season is a good time to ensure that you are not in the circle.
I decided more than 60 years ago that my teaching philosophy would be to have a sound technique so that wayward shots, whilst they would not be eliminated, would become boring scoring shots.( Top Tip 58 ).
My first position as a Head professional was at Kettering Golf Cub. Northamptonshire, UK in the early 1970’s.
A member came into my shop and enquired if I was the new professional. I confirmed that I was so he said could I cure his shank.
I said, unfortunately, I could not but if I improved his stance and basic swing the shank would disappear. His stance and basic swing were improved and his shank did indeed disappear.
Standing to the ball and the back swing are 95% of the shot so work on that aspect of your game so hooking, slicing, topping, etc, whilst not being eliminated, will become manageable making you a more consistent golfer.
Please revisit Teaching Videos 5, 6, 7 & 8.
Wishing you a great golfing season.
