I have just returned from a holiday at the beautiful Belton Woods 4 star Hotel near Grantham, Lincolnshire UK.
My wife and I went there to revisit the area as I had spent many years living at Belton Park Golf Club – just a few miles away from Belton Woods, when I left school. My father was the Pro at the club.
We had a superb lodge overlooking one of the two golf courses with a balcony almost directly over one of the tees – the hole was a par 4.
With a constant flow of golfers it was impossible for me not to start analysing their stances.
I believe the stance is 75% of the shot and of the hundreds of swings I saw only three had good stances.
Some of the stances were so far out I fully expected a Pro V1 to land in my glass of Rose’
The biggest problems were – knees too bent ( Top Tip 5 ), feet positioned incorrectly – ( Teaching Video 5.) and the left arm and club not in line ( Teaching Video 39 ).
If you read this it would be a great idea to revisit the videos mentioned as the stance is so very very important.
Happy golfing.
Peter.
