The world golf rankings on 23rd. August 2015 had Jordan Speith as No.1
This is a tremendous acheivement at the age of 22 and I am very impressed by every thing about him.
My golf lessons are based on acheiving consistency and one of my sayings is BORING SCORING SHOTS.
It is easy to access on line the statistics of all of the golfers on the main golf tours and I have been looking at the statistics on the mens USA Tour.
In the following categories, driving distance, driving accuracy, greens in regulation, scrambling, sand saves, putts per green, birdie average and scoring average Jordan was the best in only one category, putts per green, where he had just .34 putts per round better than the second placed golfer. Crucially Jordan was better than average in all of the other categories.
This analysis shows that my approach to coaching is along the right lines as by having very solid fundamentals the golfer ultimately creates the highly desirable BORING SCORING SHOTS.
